Our Programs

Our Work

For the past few decades, CEDAC has been responsible for a number of school programs in schools and churches, some of these programs have been discontinued but successful nonetheless. We have therefore grouped them into three categories; our past accomplishments, current programs and the ones we plan to launch, God’s willing.

Accomplishments

  1. Before the taken-over of our Church Schools, CEDAC was responsible for entrance examinations into all missionary schools in the North
  2. We coordinated the World Council of Churches scholarship. WCC awarded about 90 scholarships as of 2012.
  3. We participated in educational policymaking in the North.

Present Programs

  • Advocacy: As an Advisory body, We have contributed to several discussions with the government, other Organizations, and Member-Churches on Christian Education policies.
  • Education: Since 1992, we have been running training programs in affiliation with Certification bodies (JETS and NTI).  We have also graduated 2897 well-trained teachers with Advance Certificates, Diploma and NCE in Christian Education and other majors.
  • Capacity Building: We also organize capacity-building activities in form of workshops and seminars for Church leaders, CRK teachers, and Supervisors.  We also engage in Bible quiz competitions at Primary levels for now.

We seek to support CRK teachers in their schools to reach their pupils the best way they can. Our concept is to empower these teachers with proper and recent methods and techniques that will help them carry out their primary assignments properly and more efficiently. Lately, the church has been growing exponentially, with more denominations and doctrines that threaten the unity of the Church.

Future Programs

  1. We intend to Affiliate our programs with some international organizations to run Leadership and human development programs
  2. Upgrade our educational programs to offer degree courses.
  3. Introduce vocational and capacity building for our teaming of widows orphans and displaced.
  4. To offer scholarships to out-of-school orphans
  5. Since we run our programs in borrowed facilities, we are embarking on a building project that will house a hall for seminars, offices, classes and computer/library.
